THE HISTORY ON NASI LEMAK

HI EVERYONE! I bet you guys merely want to know about the simple, yet attractive history about nasi lemak, right? The video above shows about the most common nasi lemak in Malaysia! WHAT IS NASI LEMAK IS ALL ABOUT?? IT IS ALL ABOUT Coconut rice, chili on the side, slivers of anchovy, nuts, and a boiled egg: meet Malaysia’s national dish, the nasi lemak. A simple everyday meal gracing the dinner table of Malaysians all across the country, this beloved dish has a history as humble as its ingredients (Lee,2017).

LOOKING GREAT AND DELICIOUS!! YUMMY!

The nasi lemak started off as a farmer’s meal back in old days before. It is very essential and pivotal for them to fill up their energy and work all day. Since then, nasi lemak is created and has been known until today! The rice, oils, and fish as well as nuts may provided a balanced diet in one packet and on-the-go, and it was easily concocted too for the farmers. Back to the old years, nasi lemak is only served with a chunk of egg and crunchy anchovies as well as sambal to light up the taste of the nasi lemak!

Nowadays, the recipe of nasi lemak has developed thoroughly over decades. It can be proven when people eat nasi lemak with fried chicken, chicken rendang and squid sambal!

The main component in a traditional nasi lemak are santan rice, sambal, fried anchovies, nuts, freshly-cut cucumber and boiled egg!

According to Lee (2017), "Nasi lemak, being a cheap and loved pre-packaged meal, is sold almost everywhere, from little roadside stalls to five-star restaurants that provide buffets and fusion foods. The side dishes may vary, but the best add-ons include rendang, a spicy savory curry usually made with beef; fried chicken spiced and herbed specially; and veggie assortments of spinach or kangkung (water spinach)".
